Her tone was gleaming, with excellent agility for the treacherous runs, showing fine musicality, attractive stage presence, not to mention that intangible something called star power

Karoline Podolak enchanted in ‘Je suis Titania’ from Ambroise Thomas’s Mignon. The aria was a fireworks display of coloratura, trills and bell-like high notes.
— Rick Perdian, Seen And Heard International
Karoline Podolak [reminds] me a bit of Joan Sutherland in her ability to toss off delicate coloratura effortlessly. You sometimes hear that phrase, that an artist “made it sounds easy”, but that’s very true for Karoline, whose technique is superb. The voice has a tight focus, the phrasing truly perfect. I found myself envying [conductor] Vacca, who got to work with this dream of an artist.

Karoline Podolak taking a bow after singing Violetta in La Traviata at the National Opera and Ballet of Bulgaria

So far, I’ve seen many performances of La Traviata on music channels and in foreign opera theatres, but I can honestly say that this performance tonight by Karoline Podolak is the best interpretation of the role of Violetta Valéry I’ve ever heard! Your performance was superb! All the artists performed wonderfully and the spirit of their talent was felt throughout the performance! The audience today had the great fortune of hearing this unique Violetta, as well as the famous Sofia Opera Orchestra!
— Georgi Ilchev (Translation)
Podolak [makes] a strong impression with her physical beauty and charismatic stage presence. The moment she started singing, it was clear that this singer was the “real deal.” One is struck by the beauty and purity of her lyric soprano, its focused tone, accuracy of pitch, and easy top. In “Ah forse lui…Sempre libera,” there’s plenty of coloratura, not to mention the four high C’s, a D flat, and a E flat in alt. For Podolak, it was a cakewalk. The soprano was also an affecting actress, evidenced in her scenes with Alfredo and Germont

Karoline Podolak put a smile on our face with a spirited performance of “Je suis Titania” from Ambroise Thomas’ Mignon. There was charm and expressiveness in spades, utilized to underscore the fioritura which was cleanly delivered. It was altogether enchanting

The last leg of the winter musical tour, among the most beautiful theaters in the world, by the Sicilian Conductor Francesco Di Mauro ended with a very long applause of fifteen minutes. A success beyond expectations for the direction of Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata, staged on March 9 in what is a veritable cultural institution in Bulgaria, the Sofia Opera House. About a thousand participants who enjoyed the Opera represented in Italian - with Bulgarian and English subtitles - by a predominantly local cast of exception, with the sole exception of the talented Canadian-Polish soprano Karoline Podolak, and - indeed - the Italian director of the orchestra
